Last night I explored the city with a talented friend Smitho, an amazing tattooist and graffiti hobbiest. One of the great things about the City of Melbourne is that it embraces all types of art, graffiti included. We hit one of Smitho's favourite spots and also a very popular one in Melbourne. He told that the walls are constantly getting re-sprayed by novas and talented artists alike. The better your art work the longer it stays. The longest Smitho's has stayed up so far is two and a half months. I guess it would be a little bit like a game. To always improve your work so that strangers don't tarnish it but admire it instead. After a while the guys from the Chinese shop close buy came to empty the trash and slops bucket we couldn't stand the smell so we left to walk the city streets. Although Smitho has only been living in the city a little longer than me he sure knows his way around the place. He showed me all the best places to eat and shop, one of which is probably one of the best shops I have ever come across and I cannot wait to go back there during the day and explore all of its nooks and crannies. After what only seemed like an hour of wandering I looked at the time and it was 1am. Everyone around us was off their faces and I was ready to curl up in bed. To bad it was now Good Friday and all public transport had stopped and it was virtually impossible to hail a cab. Another hour passed and we gave up and called my house mate who saved the night and took me home to my amazing comfy bed!
