GRAFFITI

Last night I explored the city with a talented friend Smitho, an amazing tattooist and graffiti hobbiest. One of the great things about the City of Melbourne is that it embraces all types of art, graffiti included. We hit one of Smitho's favourite spots and also a very popular one in Melbourne. He told that the walls are constantly getting re-sprayed by novas and talented artists alike. The better your art work the longer it stays. The longest Smitho's has stayed up so far is two and a half months. I guess it would be a little bit like a game. To always improve your work so that strangers don't tarnish it but admire it instead. After a while the guys from the Chinese shop close buy came to empty the trash and slops bucket we couldn't stand the smell so we left to walk the city streets. Although Smitho has only been living in the city a little longer than me he sure knows his way around the place. He showed me all the best places to eat and shop, one of which is probably one of the best shops I have ever come across and I cannot wait to go back there during the day and explore all of its nooks and crannies. After what only seemed like an hour of wandering I looked at the time and it was 1am. Everyone around us was off their faces and I was ready to curl up in bed. To bad it was now Good Friday and all public transport had stopped and it was virtually impossible to hail a cab. Another hour passed and we gave up and called my house mate who saved the night and took me home to my amazing comfy bed!

PURPLE HAZE

There comes a time in life where someone asks you what is your favourite colour. For many years I use to say blue as it was my Mother's favourite colour and she was the first person I ever looked up to. But this was a lie. I didn't like blue, I thought it was a boys colour and a girl should like a girl colour (the ideas we have as children are redic). I didn't like pink either, pink was to girly. So I settled for the colour you get when you combine the two... purple. This colour has followed me throughout my teenage to young adult years. At first it started off as being a darker.. deeper colour (perhaps to correlate with my 'EMO' phase). It to with my mood has lightened over the years and is now a pastel version of the colour. I have decided to dedicate this post to my favourite colour purple.

Last night I was bored so I decided to dip dye the end of my hair pink/purple and personally I LOVE IT!. It definitely compliments my outfit for the day. I also love to juxtapose outfits. So for today I went for a more innocent outfit with a darker more goth style of makeup WHICH I LOVE.

THE SIMPLE THINGS IN LIFE - BONDS

Being poor like I am you need to find ways to re-wear the same clothes over and over again. We don't have the money like the rich and famous that wear one outfit once and then never again. Every girl needs the essentials in their wardrobe. One being the plain tee that can be purchased in just about any shop be it Woolworths/Safeway or Myer's. This post is dedicated the the plain t-shirt by Bonds. You can pick one up for 19.95 at Myer, Target, Big W, just about any where. You can use it to dress a look up or down, lounge around in the house, wear it to the beach, wear it to bed, far out you can wear it anywhere. They are comfy, versatile and will go with anything and everything. From bold prints, to festival get up or simple jeans. It is the one thing that you should definitely have lying in your cupboard for those moments when you just have no clue on what to wear.

OP SHOP BLISS

When I was in boarding school (2005-2007) my friends and I would purchase majority of our outfits from the various opshops in town. When your weekly allowance was twenty dollars a week which included phone credit, you had to learn to economise. We became such frequent shoppers that the school actually band us from going to the opshops as our parents were complaining about how much clothing we would acquire over the year as they would have to find space in their cars to fit it all when they picked us up for school holidays. However, I live out of home and highschool is long behind me (and I have just graduated uni) so no one can tell me what to do and stop me spending big (or well little) at the opshops. Life is bliss.

Yesterday I caught up with a dear friend I haven't seen for ages. Afterwards we decided to seek refuge from the heat in the nearest opshop. Amazingly they had 50% off all clothing (I thought I had died and gone to heaven) ten dollars later I had bagged these goodies. So happy with my successful buys.
